If you currently send and receive e-mail messages through Hostway and are using an e-mail program, such as Outlook, to access your e-mail, then please make three changes to the program settings. For those of you comfortable making the changes without detailed instructions, please refer to the Quick Instructions below; for others, please click Detailed Instructions.
Quick Instructions
1 |
In your e-mail program, open Settings for the appropriate e-mail account. |
2 |
Enable Authentication for the Outgoing Server. For example, in the Account Settings window of Outlook, the More Settings option allows you to select the Outgoing Server tab and then check the "My outgoing server requires authentication" box. |
3 |
Change the Incoming Mail Server (POP3) setting to pop.yourdomainnamehere.com. For example, pop.myfamilypix.com or pop.dogsandcats.net. Similarly, change the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) setting to smtp.yourdomainnamehere.com. For example, smtp.myfamilypix.com or smtp.dogsandcats.net. |
4 |
Change the User Name setting to the full e-mail address. For example, if the current User Name is johndoe, then the new User Name should be changed to johndoe@yourdomainnamehere.com. That's it, you're done! |
